Love all your ways of going back to the basics! Particularly sitting on the floor and listening to a whole album! Every morning I write out a simple joy in my day, even if its just a warm cup of coffee. It is a daily reminder to go back to the basics and appreciate it
So many great suggestions here, thank you. I'm definitely with you on going back to basics and making more of simple pleasures. My mum used to put my PJs on the radiator for when I got out of the bath and that's something I really need to start doing for myself.
I get this. This is a conversation I keep having with other friends who have recently turned 50 something. The world feels a bit disorienting the way it is now. I'd like to go back to basics too.
Love hearing how you allowed yourself to slow down and rolled with that. I sometimes spend a day or some part of the day listening to myself. Shockingly unfamiliar ground! 😉
Taking a walk and coming back for soup is a treat that I sometimes set up for myself, too! Taking the time to be good to ourselves is the best way to learn how to be kind to our fellow beings. My mom taught me to throw a big towel or blanket in the dryer when I came in the door after walking home on a cold rainy day. By the time you have changed out of your wet clothes, you can wrap up in the warm towel and feel so much better. Then when I was caring for my father many years later, I knew doing this for him would be the treat he really needed to sooth his arthritis. What goes around comes around and that includes being kind to yourself.
I got a yoga class where at the start she tells us all to take our socks off and put them on the radiator and putting them back on at the end is the best part of the whole class! Love this post, thanks for sharing Hannah, I want to go back to basics too. 😊

Love this - I might have to start writing down one joy a day ☺️

It's so easy to forget about those simple things that bring us joy I think! PJs on the radiator is definitely one of those things - a simple luxury 🥰

💛 I like that we have the option to always strip it back to basics (even when there are so many things that potentially stop us doing that!) x

Love the idea that the more you look after yourself the more you can look after your loved ones, Sandy 💕
I want what you want
<3 I wish I didn't live so far away from you!!!
A trip to Amsterdam is definitely on the cards soon I think 😘

Thanks Hannah 💕✨
I loooove that your yoga teacher does the socks on the radiator thing - so simple yet so lovely!
The socks on a radiator...that small little thing gives me so much joy!
Let’s do more of all of those things this year!
Great post again, as always! Xx
It really is a comforting little joy isn’t it 🥰. Very up for doing these things together 💕
